Have you thought about house or apartment sharing?
Sharing an apartment or house means sharing the bills. A lease is drawn up between the landord and all the tenants. The property can be furnished or unfurnished. Most leases include a "solidarity clause" which means that if one of the tenants fails to pay his part of the rent, the others must pay instead. Also, tenants remain committed until the end of the lease.
Each tenant can receive housing benefit for his part of the rent.
